The Visitor Rebate Program in Canada was cancelled by The Government of Canada on March 31, 2007.

Effective April 1 2007, rebates of GST are not available for purchases of goods or short term accommodation made while visiting Canada.

The Ontario Visitor Tax Refund program was cancelled by the Ontario Ministry of Finance on June 30, 2010.
